Tattoo Sugaring, it's a thing!

This past June I had the beautiful opportunity of attending the inaugural SugarCon in Cleveland Ohio. One of the classes I was able to sit on was Sugar of the Nile Amber Franklin's "Smooth Canvas: Sugaring Before & After Tattoos."

Amber clarified & debunked myths around Sugaring over tattoos. Such as Sugaring fading tattoos. Not possible because Sugar only adheres to dead skin cells, never living skin cells. Furthermore, ink from Tattoos is located deep down in the dermis of the skin & Sugar only stays on the epidermis or outermost layer of the skin! Waxing is more of a liability because it binds to live skin & can cause irritation & burn risk.

Tattoo Sugaring also helps maintain their vibrancy! Amber had some amazing before & afters of her case studies illustrating this but naturally I forgot to take pictures. 🤦🏽♀️

Overall I loved this class & I learned something I did not expect to learn: don't be afraid to Sugar over Tattoos. If anything, this is one safe hair removal method that is the most Tattoo friendly! 😁🔏💉
Pictured below is my own student from this week. She has a beautiful sleeve and the before & after captures how much brighter & vibrant the colors of her tattoo look post Sugaring! 🎨
